We hate to wait.
It seems with all of our technology and so much information at our fingertips, delivered to us faster than the speed of sound, we have lost the art of waiting. I am a pretty low key person and in earlier years did not mind waiting for answers, people, my turn or anything else that one might have to wait for. However, today is a new day and I am often most impatient about waiting for the things I used to be so patient about. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and this scripture about waiting was impressed upon me and I knew that it was what God wanted me to write about this week even though I had planned to write something else. Maybe it is for you or maybe it is just for me.
Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:3
I would say that this verse is God's 20/20 on WAITING! You know I am going to look up what the words in this passage mean so here they are:
Wait means bind together by twisting or to expect.
Renew means to change.
Strength means firm.
Run means rush.
Not weary means to not be exhausted or faint.
May I stand on my roof and shout:
For all that bind themselves together in a relationship with God through His Son,Jesus and wait on HIM for directions, they will change their weakness or uncertainty into firm strength and when they are busy rushing around during their days they will not become exhausted and faint.
Praise God!
There have been so many times in my life, especially as a young mother that exhaustion almost made me loss my perspective and just faint. However, it was and is always when I can have the presence of mind to remember who I am in Christ and just be still in my soul and wait on Him for direction or strength I am renewed or changed.
Perhaps you are about to faint. My prayer for you is that you will be still in your soul and allow God to be God. He cares for you, wait for Him. You will be changed and you will not faint.
I love you,
Glenda

THat was really good, Glenda. I heard someone on the news today talking about the economy and how we all want a quick fix becuase our world today is not used to waiting. Everything is fast and we are used to instant gratification. THis verse is a good one for today:)
