Wednesday In The Word

If we really could grasp HOW MUCH God loves us it would change the way we looked at ourselves, the way we went about our day, the things we chose to spend our time on, the words we spoke or the way we loved our families.

I have been pondering this verse for the past days.

"being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6

God himself has begun a work within each one of us and it is good. Is that not the most wonderful thing to know about? I think when most women look at themselves in the mirror, they immediately see what is wrong. But God looks so much deeper...to the heart. What He sees is that His handprint is on your life and the work being performed by Him in your live is good. Next time you look in the mirror, you should thank God that He is at work within your life and that His work is good.

The one amazing fact about God's work in each of our lives is that it really started before we were placed on this earth. I have always found these words amazing:

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! "

Psalm 139: 13-17

The first time I heard this verse read out loud was from a friend that had just learned that the child she was carrying was not alive. She was on her way to the doctor to make decisions about what to do. The picture has never left my mind. There she sat with child inside reading this and saying to me, "I know God created this child and know Him." She was relying on God to help her through that horrific experience in her life.

The fact that God started His work in your life before you were born and is continuing it today and will go on with that work tomorrow provides for each one of us a confidence that He wants us to rely on.

May we shout from the rooftop:

God knows each one of us intimately, He knew each one of us before we were born.

He wants us to see ourselves as He sees us, we are His creation.

You can say I know my Creator and what has been Created by Him is good.

The work that God is doing in your life is good and will continue to be.

You are His workmanship and he cares about every detail of your life, just like you care about the lives of those you love. Don't ever forget it, cling to it.

Until next week up on the roof,
Glenda

Thank you for this post and for starting my day with a wonderful reminder of God's amazing love for us. I pray that I remember these verses -- and God's love and plan for me -- each moment of today!

SHOUT IT LOUD! Too many women don't see themselves like God sees them. Thanks for the encouraging word!

This was such an encouraging word. I actually read it twice and have printed it out as a reminder.
Thank you!
